Farrah Fawcett's funeral & more Michael Jackson controversy. Plus lots more!
Farrah Fawcett was laid to rest Tuesday at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles. The service was closed to the public, however fans and media watched from across the street. Fawcett's longtime companion, actor Ryan O'Neal, served as a pallbearer and accompanied the casket into the cathedral. Fawcett and O'Neal's 24-year-old son, Redmond, was released from jail to attend the funeral. He offered the service's first reading. According to the program, Ryan O'Neal read the 23rd Psalm and eulogies were given by friend, Alana Stewart and, Fawcett's cancer specialist, Dr. Lawerence Piro.
"Although I will miss her terribly, I know in my heart that she will always be there as that angel on the shoulder of everyone who loved her," said Stewart.
More pics from Farrah's funeral service below.
Details surrounding Michael Jackson's death just keep getting more and more dramatic. According to a registered nurse who worked closely with Jackson, the pop icon was very distraught over having insomnia that he begged for a powerful sedative, knowing how harmful it could be. Cherilyn Lee said that she repeatedly rejected Jackson's demands for injections of Dirpirvan ( a drug used as anesthesia and could result in cardiac arrest). Lee claims that she received a frantic call from a member of Jackson's staff four days before his death pleading for her help. She said she could hear Jackson in the background complaining that one side of his body was hot and the other was cold.
"I said, 'Tell him he needs to go to the hospital. I don't know what's going on, but he needs to go to the hospital...right away," she said in an interview. "At that point, I knew that somebody had given him something that hit the central nervous system," she said. "He was in trouble on Sunday, and he was crying out."
Despite Lee's demands to go to the hospital, Jackson did not go, and sadly, he died days later. But, friends and family maintain that Jackson was not addicted to drugs. They say he didn't want the medication to make him. He simply wanted to sleep.
But, the plot thickens. US Weekly is reporting that a dermatologist by the name of Arnold Klein, is the biological father of Prince and Paris Jackson. Debbie Rowe, the children's mother and Michael's ex-wife, worked for Dr. Klein when she and Jackson met. According to the report, an insider claims that Rowe and Klein signed an agreement saying that they would never reveal the truth. In 2002, Rowe admitted that she carried Jackson's children as a personal favor, but would not confirm if their marriage was ever consummated.
Klein's lawyer released a statement to Entertainment Tonight saying, "Dr. Klein is aware of the media reports connecting him to Michael Jackson. Because of patient confidentiality, Dr. Klein will make no statement on any reports or allegations..."
I guess that would explain the blonde hair/blue eyes those kids have. I can't wait to hear how this ends.
Although funeral plans have not been set in stone for the King of Pop, I've been hearing talks of the service being held on Sunday. But one person won't be there. Music icon Quincy Jones said he won't be attending MJ's funeral. He told Entertainment Tonight that he just can't handle it. Jones is responsible for pretty much launching Jackson's solo career. In a blog that he wrote for the LA Times, Jones recalled moments he spent with Jackson. He wrote:
"Michael was so shy he'd sit down and sing behind the couch with his back to me while I sat there with my hands over my eyes with the lights off."
Speaking of Quincy Jones, apparently he just learned that the magazine he started, VIBE, has gone under. And he's not happy about it. He told EbonyJet.com that he has plans on getting his magazine back up and running.
"They just messed my magazine all up, but I'm gonna get it back. You better believe it, I'm'a take it online because print and all that stuff is over..."
Get 'em Quincy!!!
And in other random news....
According to theybf.com, rapper/actor, Drake, has officially signed with Lil Wayne's Young Money label. He's been with the label, inexclusively, since he came out, but he had other offers on the table. Such, as a $2 million deal from Atlantic Records. I hear that he had some reservations with signing with Young Money because it's an offset of Cash Money Records, and everyone knows that they have a bad business history with former artists. So what did it take to finally get Drake to sign? Well, Lil Wayne offered him $4 million just to sign! And his contract includes and guarantees release dates. WOW! I will sign my name for $4 million any day!! Holla at ya girl, Weezy!!!!
And if you're not familiar with Drake, you need to be!! He is the hottest thing out right now! Not to mention, he played Jimmy Brooks, a kid confined to a wheelchair after being shot, on Degrassi: The Next Generation.
Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick released the first pics of their newborn twin girls. Marion Loretta Elwell Broderick and Tabitha Hodge Broderick were bork June 22 to a surrogate mother. The couple has a 6 year old son, James Wilkie Broderick.
Congratulations!
Well that's all for today folks! I'm on my way to see "Public Enemies!!!!!!" Don't forget to leave your 2 cents and check out more pics from Farrah Fawcett's funeral service. Have a good one!
R.I.P. Steve McNair. Plus, the swine flu hits Hollywood and lots more!
With the death of yet another celebrity, we are reminded everyday that life is too short and tomorrow is not promised to any of us. Sadly, the sports world has to say goodbye to one of the best athletes of our time.
If you haven't heard by now, NFL quarterback Steve McNair a.k.a. "Air McNair" was found shot to death in his condo in Nashville, Tennessee on the fourth of July, along with his girlfriend, 20-year-old Sahel Kazemi. McNair was shot four times--twice in the head and twice in the chest. Kazemi suffered a single gunshot wound to the head. Nashville police have ruled McNair's death a homicide, but there is some speculation as to whether or not Kazemi murdered McNair and then turned the gun on herself--and for that reason, they have not classified her death at this time. Police found a semi-automatic pistol underneath Kazemi's body, and right now, The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms is assisting police in tracing the purchase of the pistol to find out who its owner is. Not only that, there was no sign of forced entry into the condo, and a witness reported that when McNair arrived at the condo on Saturday morning, Kazemi's car was already parked outside.
McNair was married, but sources say that he and Kazemi had been dating for months and that Kazemi believed that McNair and his wife, Mechelle, were going to get a divorce so that the two of them could marry. TMZ captured photographs of McNair and Kazemi parasailing on vacation not long ago.
Two days before their deaths, Kazemi had been arrested for a DUI. McNair was in the passenger seat, but was allowed to go home in a taxi.
McNair played 13 seasons in the NFL, playing mostly with the Tennessee Titans before trading to the Baltimore Ravens. He retired in 2007.
He leaves behind a wife and four sons.
R.I.P. Air McNair
The investigation into the death of Michael Jackson continues, and now, the welfare of his three children is being questioned. Access Hollywood is reporting that the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services is looking into whether or not Jackson's children, Prince Michael I, Paris Michael Katherine and Prince Michael II, were ever exposed to any drugs in the house by their father. DCFS was alerted after Jackson's live-in doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray, gave ER staff a list of medications that Jackson had been taking, according to Access Hollywood.
The children are currently under the care of Jackson's mother, Katherine, as were his wishes in his will. However, if Katherine is incapacitated, Jackson granted custody to Diana Ross (WTH?). Investigators will look into conditions at Katherine's home in Encino, CA as well. The investigation is expected to take a month or longer, depending on toxicology results from Jackson's autopsy.
For all you Harry Potter fans, I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is, actor Rupert Grint, who plays wizard Ron Weasley, has caught the swine flu. The good news is, he's okay. He will be well enough to attend the premier of the new HP installment, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on Tuesday. The taping of the next HP installment, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, is currently filming in London. But, Grint had to take a few days off due to the mild case of the H1N1 virus. His publicist released this statment:
"It has just been confirmed that Rupert Grint has taken a few days out of filming due to a mild bout of swine flu. He has now recovered and is looking forward to joining the his fellow cast members at the junket and premieres this week and will then return to filming directly afterwards."
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince opens in theaters July 17. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows is slated for a 2010 release.
And speaking of Rupert Grint, fellow costar Emma Watson says kissing him was "the most horrible thing I've ever had to do." Why? Because "it just felt like incest." Funny.
Rihanna is in trouble with the law...and this time, she's not the victim. She was photo'd giving tattoos to several people at East Side Ink last week in New York City. So, why is this a problem? Because "only licensed tattoo artists can administer tattoos in the city according to the city's health code," said a rep from the New York Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. East Side Ink's owner, Yadira, said that Rihanna just came with some friends and stayed for a few hours. She says they had a blast and Rihanna's visit was "so funny and cute." I heard, that Rihanna tattooed little umbrellas with the letter R inside of them on at least three people. My only question is: Who would be dumb enough to let Rihanna tattoo anything on them? Were they drunk? Had to be.
Apparently, the penalites for tattooing without a license are $300 for the first offense, $500 for the second, and $1,000. That's chump change to Rihanna.
And while we're on the subject, it seems that Chris Brown has moved on. Or has he? Rumors have been circulating that he is more than just friends with BFF, singer Teyana Taylor. They were spotted at Diddy's annual all-white party in the Hamptons (that I am determined to get invited to) looking a little too "comfortable" if you ask me. Not to mention they got matching red dye haircuts.
Rumor also has it that Chris has been running around with Kanye's girlfriend, model Amber Rose, too. What's really going on, Chris??
And actress Lauren London came out of hiding this weekend to attend Diddy's party as well. She has been M.I.A. since rumors started speculating that she was pregnant with Lil Wayne's baby. Well guess what, she is indeed preggers!!!
The Sean John model denied her pregnancy at first, but says she is now happy to share her bundle of joy with the world. I guess she realized that after the bump starts showing, you can't really hide it anymore. Take notes Jennifer Hudson...you're not fooling anybody! Anyway, congrats to Lauren. The preggers look looks good on you! Now please just tell us who that baby's daddy is!
And now to the "I don't really care" files....
Jon and Kate Gosselin spent the 4th of July holiday together with the children. They were reportedly seen playing volleyball, picking blueberries for a cake, and playing with sparklers. I wonder how many times Kate cursed Jon out. *Yawn*
And speaking of ex's spending special days together. Lindsay Lohan celebrated her 23rd birthday last Thursday and guess who she spent it with? You guessed it! Her ex-girlfriend, Samantha Ronson. Paparazzi caught the two having lunch at Tra Di Noi in Malibu. Later, Lindsay reportedly went to dinner at Cecconi's in West Hollywood and celebrated there. She tweeted that she was "having the best bday ever with family, and friends," but also said that "I miss my sister and baby brother Cody and my mommy and nana." *cue the violins* Happy Birthday anyway, Lindsay.
Utah police was called to Gary Coleman's home last week after a domestic incident (stop laughing), but Gary wasn't the one who got arrested! This time, it was his wife, 23-year-old Shannon Price that was whisked away in the back of a police cruiser! Apparently, Price locked Coleman out during an argument and was yelling "obscenities out the window." She also was, allegedly throwing items around the home "upending furniture." Price was arrested for domestic violence, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct, and held for about 2 hours before she posted $1, 205 bail. According to the Associated Press, there is no indication that 41-year-old Coleman was injured.
LMBO!!! Does anyone else wish they could've been there to see lil Gary locked out of the house!? LMBO! I watched these two on Divorce Court a while ago (lol)...I guess they decided to stay together after all. Wow. What a mess! Gary, you're too old for this foolishness! And why did this chick marry him in the first place??? LOL...ok, I'm done...
That's all I've got for today, folks! Don't forget to leave me your 2 cents! Have a good one!
A funeral fit for a king
His passing is still ubelievable...surreal. But, the memorial service for Michael Jackson was nothing short of perfect. Perfect. From the beginning to the end. No problems, no altercations, no technical difficulties...just thousands of family and friends inside of the Staples Center mourning such a great loss, yet honoring such a great life. In my opinion the entire service was...peaceful.
I watched the full memorial twice, while watching recaps on several different stations in between. Each time seemed to be just as hard as the last. I fought back tears as Michael's casket was brought in by his brothers, who all wore one sequined glove in his honor. Watching from my living room, I could feel the and sense the atmosphere inside of the Staples Center. It was almost like I was there. I laughed along with Berry Gordy, Brooke Shields, and several others, but what really made the tears fall was when Jermaine Jackson sang his brother's favorite song, "Smile." The minute I saw the emotion on Jermaine's face, my eyes began to water and I prayed that he would not let his tears fall because if he did, I knew mine would too. And he did. I, along with 20,000 people inside the Staples Center and the millions watching all over the world, was deeply moved by the speech by Rev. Al Sharpton. I cheered as he shouted "Thank you, Michael. Thank you, Michael. Thank you, thank you, thank you!" His standing ovation was well deserved.
John Mayer's guitar rendition of Human Nature was nothing short of amazing. But, my first heartbreak of the day came when Usher sang "Gone Too Soon." Now, me being the Usher stalker fan that I am, I knew how much he loved and idolized Michael Jackson. So, the minute I saw him walk onto the stage, I was instantly moved. The most emotional part for me was when he came down from the stage and touched and sang to Michael's casket, then he paused to gather himself, finished the song, and then had a brief breakdown. Then, the Jackson siblings and Joe Jackson rushed to him and embraced him as if he were there own brother in a group hug before hugging him one by one. But, it was when he walked over to Michael's mother Katherine Jackson, whispered to her, and laid his head in her lap, that had me completely outdone and I thought for a moment that I couldn't watch another minute.
I'm pretty sure you watched the service too, so I won't recap the entire thing with words. But, I just wanted to mention the most heart-wrenching, and the biggest surprise of the service....his daughter, Paris Katherine Jackson addressing the audience. It was heartbreaking to see her up there, speaking publicly for the first time, expressing her love for and her own heartbreak over her "daddy."
Who else will ever have a send off as great as this? Probably no one, because truthfully, who is bigger than Michael Jackson? Who knew a kid from Gary, Indiana would go on to be the most talked about celebrity of all time, the greatest humanitarian, and the greatest entertainer to ever grace the stage? Michael Jackson set milestones in a time when African Americans thought it was impossible. He blazed the trails for not many, but all of the entertainers that we watch today. There will NEVER be another Michael Jackson.
R.I.P. Michael
Here are some memorable quotes from the memorial.
"There wasn't anything strange about your daddy. It was strange what your daddy had to deal with." ~Rev. Al Sharpton
"We will never understand what he endured....being judged, ridiculed. How much pain can one take? Maybe now, Michael, they will leave you alone." ~Marlon Jackson
"We had a bond and maybe it was because we both understood what it was like to be in the spotlight from a very, very young age. I used to tease him and say, 'I started when I was 11 months old. You're a slacker. You were like, what, 5?' Both of us needed to be adults very early, but when we were together, we were two little kids having fun." ~Brooke Shields
"He created a comfort level, where people that felt they were serparate became interconnected with his music...Those young kids grew up from being teenage, comfortable fans of Michael's to being 40 years old and being comfortable to vote for a person of color to be the president of the United States of America. Michael did that. Michael made us love each other. Michael taught us to stand with each other. ~Rev. Al Sharpton
"You don't think you'll live to see them gone...He is going to live forever and ever and ever and ever." ~Smokey Robinson
"This is a moment that I wish that I didn't live to see come. But as much as I can say that and mean it, I do know that God is good and I do know that as much as we may feel--and we do--that we need Michael here with us, God musy have needed him far more. " ~Stevie Wonder
"There are certain people in our popular culture that just capture people's imaginations. And in death, they become even larger." ~President Barack Obama
"Ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine. And I just watned to say I love him--so much." ~Paris Michael Katherine Jackson

The service program Several celebrities and close friends of Michael, including, Elizabeth Taylor, Quincy Jones, and Diana Ross chose not to attend the event. They said it was just too hard and that they'd rather grieve in private. Burial arrangements are still not set for The King of Pop. It has been said that his body will not return to Forest Lawn Cemetary. Family members want to bury him at his beloved Neverland Ranch, however, state codes will not allow them to. If they can get neighbors to agree to it, I say, turn Neverland into a museum and lay him to rest in the one place he felt the most comfortable. It just makes sense.
"And my goal in life is to give to the world what I was lucky to receive: the ecstacy of divine union through my music and my dance." ~MJ Mission Accomplished Goodbye Michael....Long Live the King
Say it ain't so, Joe! Papa Jackson has plans for Michael's kids...and lots more!
The circus surrounding the death of Michael Jackson just keeps getting bigger and bigger. The pop star's sudden death has been nothing short of suspicious and the tangled web of "he said, she said" has only made it more difficult. So what exactly happened to The King of Pop?
Well, his sister, LaToya Jackson says that her brother was murdered. In interviews with Britain's The Mail on Sunday and News of the World, LaToya claims that several people were involved in Michael's death in a plot to get to his money. She also claims that cash and jewelry worth nearly $2 million was taken from Michael's home after his death.
"Michael was murdered. And we don't think just one perosn was involved. Rather, it was a conspiracy of people. I feel it was all about money. Michael was worth over a billion in music publishing assets and somebody killed him for that."
LaToya said her brother told her years ago that he feared for his life.
"A couple of years ago, Michael told me he was worried that people were out to get him. He said, 'They're gonna kill me for my publishing. They want my catalogues and they're gonna kill me for these." she told News of the World.
She admits that Michael had needle marks on his arms and neck amongst other places. But, for fear of jeopardizing the investigation, she would not go into further detail. Nor, would she reveal who she believed is responsible.
"I can't say who I believe is responsible as I don't want to jeopardize the police investigation. But not everybody had Michael's best interests at heart. A month ago, I felt Michael was going to die before he did his London concerts," she told the newspapers. (I wonder if she used her psychic friends as a lifeline to come up with this)
And to make matters worse, she says the Jackson family, including Joe, made numerous attempts to reach out to Michael. LaToya said, Joe Jackson, their father, tried several times to visit his son, but was kept out.
"Michael was being controlled. No one could get through to him. We wanted to know why we were being kept away and my father, Joe, was always trying to get to see him. He tried so hard to be there for Michael. He was seen as a threat but he was trying to help. And if you keep the family away, you can conquer. It's like they say, divide and conquer."
LaToya also made it clear that her brother will not be buried at Neverland. She says Michael hated that place.
"After the second child abuse trial, he said to me, 'I will never come back to this place again. I hate it. This place helped destroy me.'"
Los Angeles police chief William Bratton has not ruled out homicide in this case.
Interesting.
Now you knew it was coming...Ya'll knew Joe was going to see an opportunity and run with it! I'm hearing that the almighty Joe Jackson is planning to put together a Jackson 3 group consisting of none other than, Michael's 3 children, Prince I, Paris, and Blanket! I hear he's looking to start a tour next year. He spoke on Good Morning America and here's what he said:
"I keep watching Paris. She wants to do something...They say Blanket, he can really dance."
Wow, Joe! Really? He ought to be ashamed of himself!!! Michael hasn't been gone a month and already he's trying to exploit the kids! This just doesn't sit well with me. Somewhere Katherine Jackson is getting ready to pop off on Joe in 5, 4, 3, 2.....
And speaking of the kids...their "mother" Debbie Rowe says she will be at the upcoming guardianship hearing, which was postponed to July 20, for Michael's 3 kids. According to LA reporter, Chuck Henry, Rowe told him that she has to step up and try to get custody of her children." She also said that she plans to keep Joe Jackson away from his grandchildren and that she would seek a restraining order if she felt it was necessary.
In his will, Michael requested that his mother, Katherine, take care of his 3 children. And, if she couldn't do it, then Diana Ross was next in line.
Rowe is the mother of Prince I, 12, and Paris, 11. Blanket, 7, was born to a surrogate mother.
In my opinion, the judge better not give custody of those kids to this woman. I distinctively remember, years ago, her on tv saying that she had those kids "for Michael" and that's it. From what I understand, she hasn't had a relationship with them at all...they don't even know her. But, oh well, it's not for me to decide. I guess I gotta wait til July 20 like everybody else.
But, wait, there's more....
A&E is working on a reality show starring the Jackson family. Now I know what you're thinking, but the show was commissioned and filmed months ago. It's a one hour special, called "The Jackson Family," that was originally supposed to be a pilot for a potential series, that follows Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, and Randy as they prepared for a new album and reunion tour. Producers have not shot any additional footage since the death of Michael Jackson, but they think the project would gain newfound viewer interest since his death. In a statement released by A&E executives, they said "We have started discussing internally and with the family, but have not yet decided what direction to take with the show. We are respecting the family's wishes right now and at the appropriate time, we weill all decide what direction this program will take, so stay tuned."
The show was originally set to air next year. Of course, the show will need to be changed in order to reflect recent events.
I'll watch it!
Over the weekend, former boxing champ, Arturo Gatti, 37, was found dead in a hotel in Brazil. And in another case of "a woman scorned," his wife, 23-year-old Amanda Rodrigues is being detained and accused of his murder. Gatti was strangled with a purse strap, which was found at the scene covered with blood stains. The Canadian boxer had also suffered a head injury.
Rodrigues told police that she and Gatti had an argument after dinner on Friday night and he pushed her to the ground, causing her to hurt her elbow and chin. She said Gatti was drunk and that a third party likely commited the crime after he went to back to the apartment at the Porto de Galinhas resort, alone. But, Rodrigues' story has a lot of flaws and contradictions in it. She was the first one to "find" her husband's body early Saturday morning, but she could not explain how she spent almost 10 hours inside the apartment without noticing that Gatti was dead.
Witnesses told the police that the couple had been fighting and that Gatti was drunk. People close to the couple told authorities that the pair were extremely jealous of each other and that Gatti constantly complained about her clothing when she traveled to Brazil, her home country. A close friend says that he "knew they were having some sort of problem and were about to separate."
Gatti and Rodrigues have a 1-year-old son, who is now with Rodrigues' sister.
Gatti, junior welterweight champion, retired from boxing in 2007 with a career record of 40-9 and 31 knockouts.
And last but not least, congratulations are in order for funnyman Jim Carrey! He's about to be a grandpa! Carrey's 21-year-old daughter, Jane is expecting her first child with fiance' Alex Santana, who is in the band Blood Money and goes by the stage name, Nitro.
"I am very excited, " Carrey told Us Magazine. "Jane is going to be a great mom."
Jane is Carrey's daughter with ex-wife Melissa Womer, whom he divorced in 1997.
Well, not much happened over the weekend, so that's all for today folks! Don't forget to leave your 2 cents!
Until next time.....
Madonna's tragic turn of events. Plus, Debbie Rowe is all about the benjamins...and lots more!
Hey guys! Sorry about the wait. I had an awesome blog prepared for you yesterday, but somehow the system deleted the entire story and it could not be recovered. Most of the stories that were included are not relevant now, but don't worry, I've dug up some more dirt to kick off your weekend. Let's get to it!
Unfortunately, this first story is a sad one. Two workers are dead after the roof of a stage being built for a Madonna concert collapsed in France yesterday. A French worker was killed immediately when the roof fell on top of several workers. A British worker was taken to the hospital but was later pronounced dead. Eight others, including an American, were injured. That American worker is listed as being in serious condition. A distraught Madonna, canceled her scheduled performance Sunday after the accident. The cause of the collapse has yet to be determined.
My heart goes out to all that were involved or have been affected by this.
Jo Jo Simmons, the son of Reverend Run of the legendary Run DMC, is not quite the angel you would expect him to be. Remember, back in May, he was arrested for possession of marijuana and for trying to flee and fight the cops? Well, he plead guilty to one charge of disorderly conduct so that he could get the possession charge dropped and escape jail time. All he's getting is one day community service. BIG DEAL! I bet he thinks he has street cred now.
Let me shutup...cuz I secretly wish I was one of Rev's kids too! At least I would know how to act...*side-eyeing Jo Jo*
Debbie Rowe is suing some lady named Rebecca White for defamation, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. While Rowe admits to knowing this woman, White claimed to be a "close friend" when she told reporters that Rowe was willing to accept millions of dollars in exchange for giving up her custody rights to her two children with Michael Jackson.
According to Yahoo! News, the lawsuit claimed that White made up emails and other communications she said were sent to her by Rowe. White even told an unspecified media outlet that Rowe had sent her an email in which Rowe said she did not want the children but that it would look bad if she did not fight for their custody. But, Rowe claims that the two never exchanged emails concerning Jackson or the children. It is not clear, at this point, how much the lawsuit is seeking.
Say what you want, but I'm riding with Team White on this one. That Debbie Rowe chick just doesn't sit well with me.
And while we're on the subject of Michael Jackson, I thought this was interesting since I have never heard of such. All the stuffed animals, flowers, letters and other memorbilia that were placed outside of Detroit's Motown HIstorical Museum (formerly the Motown Records building) in memory of the pop star, will be taken to a cemetary to be buried. Two hearses will pick up the items and take them to the Woodlawn Cemetary to be buried in two donated plots. A brief memorial service will be held at the cemetary.
No word on if any members of the Jackson family will attend. Ten dollars says Jermaine and Joe are on the way....
Actress Mischa Barton is the new Britney Spears (like we really need two of them)! She was hospitalized earlier this week and is under psychiatric observation. She was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Wednesday, after police placed her under an involuntary psychiatric hold, according to Access Hollywood. Mishca, 23, was placed under Section 5150 of the California Welfare and Institutions Code. Britney Spears was placed under the same section in 2008. Last year, Mischa pleaded no contest to drunken driving in Los Angeles and was sentenced to three years probation.
I wonder what triggered the meltdown. Could it be her failing career......?
Actor Orlando Bloom's Hollywood Hills home was burgularized Wednesday evening while he was across the country in NYC. Authorities say the theives got into his home through a window and stole several thousands of dollars in cahs and jewelry-including 2 very expensive watches. So far, the police have no suspects.
Jon Gosselin's new girlfriend is not only a wild, marijuana smoker...she's a lesbian too! Well, according to some of her college buddies, Hailey Glassman is actually bisexual. In the new issue of Us Weekly, her IU pals spilled all the beans on her!
"She's open about it, and I've seen it happen," one friend said.
They also claim that Hailey is more interested in women than in men and that she's only with Jon "to get famous." In fact, Hailey, who is the daughter of the surgeon that performed Kate's free tummy tuck, has tried out for MTV's Real World and Oxygen's Bad Girls Club. Some friends she has! LOL!
Hailey was arrested in 2005 for marijuana possession in Bloomington.
My question is....how does she deal with him having 8 kids!? That's definetly a deal breaker!
Singer Amy Crackhouse Winehouse and her hubby of 2 years, Black Fielder-Civil are officially over! A judge in London granted them a divorce yesterday morning, however it won't be final for another 6 months. Neither Winehouse nor Fielder-Civil were present at the court proceedings. Feder-Civil filed for divorce earlier this year citing infidelity and stating that living with Winehouse was "intolerable." Yeah, I bet. But, Winehouse admitted to committing adultery back in April of 2008, which is the last time the couple lived together.
I would've thought he would've divorced her a loooooong time ago!
And in the random files.....
Tameka "Tiny" Cottle b.k.a. T.I.'s baby's mother and eternal fiance, celebrated her 34th birthday. And what better surprise than jewelry from your man....who's in prison!?
That's her 3rd engagement ring, by the way. Bless her heart.
Word around the rumor mill is, comedian Katt Williams filed for bankruptcy. He's one of the funniest dudes in America! How could he be broke? I'm looking into this one....
And Neyo, what the heck are you crying for????? Check the video below.
That's all for today folks! Leave me your 2 cents and have a great weekend!!!!!
Random Weekend Wrap-up!
Happy Monday!!! Not much happened over the weekend, but a few stories and rumors popped up. Let's take a look, shall we?
The court hearing, that was supposed to be held today, over who will get custody of Michael Jackson's three children was postponed again. It has now been set for August 3. Since the pop star's death, his mother, Katherine Jackson has had temporary custody of Prince Michael, Paris, and Prince Michael II. But, lawyers for the Jackson family and Michael's ex-wife, Debbie Rowe, have been in talks about settling the issue behind closed doors. I'm also hearing that Michael's sister, Janet Jackson, has also been in on these talks because, she has also expressed interested in raising them.
Personally, I would've thought that Michael would've left the kids to Janet if his mother wasn't able to raise them. Well, my first thought was actually Jermaine, but he already has a gazillion kids, so it seems more like right to leave them with Janet. I don't know...I guess it's not for me to decide. I just hope Debbie Rowe doesn't get the kids.
And speaking of Janet, word around town is that she and boyfriend of almost 7 years, Jermaine Dupri, have indeed broken up. According to several gossip sites, "his friends are telling people it's over." A source was quoted as saying, "they've been moving in different directions for a while."
Some speculate that the split was caused by the couple mixing business with pleasure. Jermaine Dupri produced several songs on Janet's last 2 albums. In addition to the break-up, Janet is still mourning the loss of her brother and is busy caring for Michael's children. "Janet is the family's backbone," says the source.
That's too bad. I was starting to like these two as a couple. They were an odd couple...but I liked them. I just want to know what Jermaine Dupri plans on doing about this now that they're not together:
*SMH*
Well, American Idol fans, your favorite judge may not be returning for season 9! No, not Simon, I'm talking about Paula Abdul. No more clapping and drunken overly positive comments. No more bickering with Simon. No more outfit complimenting. Okay, you get the point....she won't be there. And she's "not a happy camper." According to a Los Angeles Times report, Abdul's new manager, David Sonenberg, says the star has not been offered a new contract and if producers do offer one, they're really pushing it with time. Auditions for next season are starting to get underway and the show airs in January. Looks like we're back down to three judges. But, I think I smell a conspiracy....suddenly they bring in this Kara DioGuardi chick to make the show un-even, then they make Paula exit stage left...hmmmm...think about that....
I sense a Paula meltdown any minute. Watch your back Simon!
An arrest was made over the weekend in the Steve McNair murder case. Adrian J. Gilliam Jr., a convicted murder, was arrested by ATF agents in Nashville and charged with illegal possession of a firearm. He is the one who sold McNair's girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi, the gun (for $100) she used to kill him and then herself.
But the saga continues in this case....
When McNair died, he did not leave a will. Therefore, his wife, Mechelle, was named administrator of his estate. She named their sons, Tyler and Trenton, as heirs to his estate. Now, under Tennessee law, Mechelle is entitled to 1/3 of the estate and the remaining 2/3 is split up evenly among the heirs. That doesn't sound like a bad thing, right? Wrong. The problem is, McNair has two older sons, Steve Jr. and Steven O'Brian Koran McNair, from a previous relationship that Mechelle did not list as heirs. Why? Well, that is unknown at this time. But, it's definetly some shady business going on and I feel this situation getting real ugly, real quick!
The OctoMom is making headlines again! Nadya Suleman's two-year-old son, Caleb, was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance Friday evening, after accidentally ingesting a chemical mixture for his brother's home volcano kit. He was taken to the emergency room at St. Jude Medical Center after Suleman called 911 because Caleb was vomitting. He underwent diagnostic tests and was released. Suleman says her son will be "perfectly fine," and that no further tests or medication will be needed.
Last week, I posted a video of R&B singer, Ne-Yo, crying his eyes out on stage. I later found out that he was crying because he was sick and had to stop his show. Apparently, he caught a lot of heat for crying and decided he wanted to clear things up. He posted a blog on Global Grind:
"I'm currently on tour in the UK. This tour began right afer a 4 month stint in Prague shooting a world war 2 movie. We're in a different city in a different part of the UK every night, moving non stop. Since my first album, roughly 5 years ago, I've taken 1 vacation, and even that was about 2 years ago.
Basically, I have an issue with not knowing when to say enough is a enough, so last night in Manchester, my body said it for me. I got on stage energized and ready to go, even tho for the last 5 days I've been dealing with a sinus infection. I paid it no real mind, and kept on going, like I always do. My voice couldn't take it. From the first song I knew something was wrong. I shoulda stopped there, but I come from a school where no matter what, the show must go on. It wasn't until about 4 songs in that I came to the painful realization that my voice was done, literally nothing left, and that I would have to stop the show.
Now let me explain something to you:
When I say this music, this stage, my fans, THIS is my life, I'm not saying it cause it sounds good in a sound bite. THIS IS MY LIFE!! Not much else matters to me, honestly. My music, my family, and the people that appreciate my music...the fans. THAT'S ABOUT IT!! I've never had to stop a show, never dreamed I'd ever have to. So when I had to walk out on that stage and tell 12,000 of the people responsible for making me who I am that I could not perform for them, it literally broke my heart. I cried harder than I have in a very long time with no shame whatsoever.
To anyone out there that would like to question my manhood because of this I'll say this to you:
If the one thing you cared about more than anything else in the world was threatened or even taken from you, if you knew that the people you cared for the most you had to disappoint and it was your fault...and this didn't spark some kind of emotional outbreak within you...then with no shame I'll say you are truly a stronger man than I.
To the people of Manchester, know that I love you and I thank you for being so understanding and supportive. And I promise you that you will receive the show deserved. Thanks to the fans for the love and concern.
And to the bloggers...go to hell.
Sincerely, Ne*Yo!!
Well, alrighty then. I guess he told ya'll!
How's this for hilarious??? Now you all know how Keyshia Cole's mother, Frankie, gets drunk and acts a plum fool. If you don't, then you need to do some serious googling! I absolutely love Frankie's drunkscapades! She cracks me up...thinking she's still 20! Anyway, theybf.com is reporting that Frankie was at an anniversary party a few weeks ago and ran into Chilli from the group, TLC. Apparently, Frankie is a big fan and decided she wanted to go give Chilli a hug. But, things went all the way left! Here's what they're reporting, courtesy of Freddy O:
The altercation took place at Ryan's anniversary party 2 weeks ago and was really just a misunderstanding. Frankie wanted to take a picture with Chilli cause she's her biggest fan.
All I'm going to say is Frankie had too many drinks and her alter-ego took over. Chilli who was doing an interview at the time was caught by surprise when Frankie ran over to give her a hug. Frankie didn't like Chilli's return hug.
Chilli then walked to where Yung Joc was standing not thinking anything of it and started conversing with him. Out of nowhere, here comes Frankie leaping on top of me trying to get to Chilli and pushing everyone out of the way in the process.
"You think you better than me, you think you better than me," again Frankie shouted to Chilli. Remember, by this time Frankie is officially lit! Chilli asked if she was ok and then Frankie tries to grab her again. Chilli pushed her hand away stating, "Are you serious?"
Frankie then yelled "my daughter is better than you any way."
LMBO! LMBO! LMBO! Oh, that darn Frankie! Keyshia and Neffe...stop letting your mama go places by herself. It never works out in her favor.
By the way, be on the look out for Frankie's tv show airing on BET next month. I. Can't. Wait!
Well, well, well, it looks like somebody is finally tired of lying about her engagement. Singer/actress Christina Milian is finally confirming that she is set to marry her boyfriend, singer/songwriter/producer, The Dream.
Dream put a 6-carat rock from Ivanka Trump's jewelry line on Christina's hand. 6-carats, I said!
"We don't have plans yet--but it hasn't [already] happened, that I can confirm," Christina told Us Magazine. That comes after reports that the couple had secretly eloped. "We just want to have our closest friends and family there; it's not going to be too big."
But, Dream is already looking past the wedding and talking about children. "I love kids, and Christina loves kids probably more than I do," he said. He also says that she is focusing on her career and new album, interestingly called "Elope," that set to release soon and that she'll make time for a baby in the next couple of years.
If she actually makes it to the altar this time, this will be Christina's first marriage. She was engaged to rapper/actor/Mr. Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon. The Dream was divorced from singer Nivea (who is currently pregnant by Lil Wayne) in 2007. They have 3 children together.
I think Christina and Dream are a cute couple...best wishes! (Just don't ever do another half naked magazine cover together again...that was just tacky.)
Madonna visited the eight surviving workers that were injured during an accident that left 2 dead after a crane slipped and caused a roof to collapse while assembling a stage for the material girl's concert in the French port of Marseilles, France.
Michael Vick is free! No more home detention for the NFL star that was thrown in prison for operating an illegal dogfighting ring. (Well, he'll be on probation for 3 years) But, the real judgment day comes when the decision to let him back into the NFL, or not, is passed down. And then there's the fans? Will they accept again? What do you think? Should the NFL and the world give Michael Vick a second chance?? Leave your comments below.
And finally, celebs celebrated Nelson Mandela's 91st birthday over the weekend with an all-star concert at Radio City Music Hall. But, wait a minute, Nelson Mandela wasn't there! That's because his doctors advised him not to travel internationally anymore. But, that didn't stop some of the biggest names in movies, music, and politics from celebrating for him.
France's first lady, Carla Bruni, took the stage and sang Bob Dylan's "Blowin in the Wind," with her husband, President Nicolas Sarkozy cheering her on in the audience. Queen Latifah brought down the house with her rendition of "There's a Light," a song that she originally recorded for the movie Hairspray.
Italian artist, Zucchero, sand "You Are So Beautiful." And the Queen of Soul joined Josh Groban for his, "You Raise Me Up." Rapper Lil Kim, along with Cyndi Lauper, sang Lauper's "Time After Time." *blank stare* How the heck did that happen!? Anyway, before the show, when asked how Mandela has inspired her, Lil Kim replied, "He was very instrumental in my experience in prison." LOL! Honey, Mandela went to prison because he was against apartheid. You, went to prison because you were against snitching! NOT the same thing!
Anyway, some other performers were Jesse McCartney, Alicia Keys, Wyclef Jean, African artist Angelique Kidjo, the Soweto Gospel Choir, and a tribute ain't a tribute without Stevie Wonder! You know Stevie had the place rockin'!
According to the Associated Press, the concert, Saturday culminates the first ever "Mandela Day" as a means of honoring his inspiration by observing the day annually.
Pics from the concert below:
Oh, Aretha...*sigh*
I'm so confused....
Well, that's all I have for you today! But I decided to leave you with a video that I came across that is hilarious! Shaq is too big to be so goofy! LOL! Check out his tribute to Michael Jackson!
Too funny!
Don't forget to leave your 2 cents! Until next time.....
