And I want to thank all of you for coming to me for your daily dose of celebrity gossip.  I really enjoy what I do and I hope that you continue with me into the new year.  So let's keep "Rasheda's Rundown" at the #1 spot!

Now, for all of you that's been sleeping under a rock this week, here's what you've missed.

tyrashow.jpg

Tyra Banks will always find a way to make something about her.  Not long after Oprah announced that she is ending her show in 2011, Tyra announced that she is ending her show at the end of this season.  (I guess she wanted to beat Oprah to the punch with her end date.)

Tyra insists that her decision is not based on ratings, but instead, it's about her focusing on her film production company, Bankable Studios.

"This year I'll be unveiling some HUGE surprises from me and my company Bankable--new out-of-the-box projects," she wrote on her website.  "And I'm incredibly excited to announce that I'll be launching Bankable Studios soon, which means my company will be making MOVIES!!! And what I love about creating new projects is that it also creates new jobs for talented people, in front of and behind the camera."

Hmmmmm....sound familiar?  Didn't Oprah quit her show to focus on her production company/network as well?  Smh.

Here's her message to Oprah:

"Before I go, I have to pay homage to the ultimate Queen of Talk, Oprah, who made a huge impact on my life by giving me my first shot in daytime TV.  We all know she announced that her last year with her talk show will be in the 2010-2011 season.  We will all miss her show so much.  And to you Oprah:  You have had, and continue to have, such an amazing impact on me.  I salute you."

Alrighty then.

Teddy_Riley.jpg

Remember Teddy Riley from the group Blackstreet?  Well, he just took the term "woman beater" to a new level.  Teddy's 18 year old daughter, Taja Riley (backup dancer for Janet Jackson) has accused him of beating her and her older sister, Deja Riley....with a Rock Band game guitar!!!

Here's how TMZ reported it:

According to TMZ:

Teddy's 18-year-old daughter Taja Riley was granted a temporary restraining order against her dad -- claiming 43-year-old Teddy abused her and her older sister by "stomping, punching and bashing them" in his L.A. home on December 23.

In the documents, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Taja claims at one point Teddy, "lifted a Rock Band guitar and threatened to kill person(s) w/ it."

Taja claims she suffered several injuries in the alleged altercation -- including "bashes to temple, contusion on face" and "pain in knee."

Teddy has been ordered to stay 100 yards away from Taja. The next hearing is set for January.

Afterwards, Teddy posted this on his Twitter page, which has since been deleted:

And here's a Twitter exchange between Teddy and his daughter Taja:

And of course, Teddy has now released an official statement:

"Due to recent events, I am compelled to respond in detail to accusations made against me, by my daughters.

I love my Daughters, but I will not allow my children to disrespect me in my home. Contrary to what I have been accused of, I would never beat my children.

Perhaps, I should have been a stronger disciplinarian as they were growing up. I worked very hard so that my children would want for nothing.

In hindsight, I see that it was a mistake to give them everything they wanted so that they could have the childhood I never had. Unfortunately, they have taken me, and the privileged life I have given them, completely for granted.

Instead of being appreciative and realizing how fortunate they are, my children have an inflated sense of entitlement and expectation without having to work or earn their way.

However, my 'children' are no longer children, they are adults and I am trying to instill in them values and a work ethic of their own. My mother always told me "too many grown people can't live in one house so I encourage them to have their own homes if they cannot abide by the rules of mine. I am not an uptight Dad, I am as hip as they come but I will not tolerate being taken advantage of or disrespected, especially in my home.

I've been working since the age of 14, I bought my first car by myself. Nobody gave me a car. My kids don't even remember their first car. I grew up with 6 of us in an apartment fighting over one bathroom. My kids have never had to share a bathroom, let alone a bedroom.

I'm asking everyone to let this one go... I'm only being a good parent. I'm a great father and everyone who knows me, knows this is true."

Thank you so much,

With all my love,
Teddy Riley

Smh. Wow, Teddy...Really?? Really???

The Ohio police chief that was found guilty for breaking into the home of the surrogate for Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick has been sentenced to 2 years and 8 months in prison.

Martins Ferry Police Chief Barry Carpenter and Bridgeport Police Chief Chad Dojack reportedly broke into the surrogate's home in May looking for information that they could sell to the tabloids.  When the tabloid turned them down and found out how the info got into their hands, they called the police...on the police.

Carpenter was convicted in November with receiving stolen property, theft in office and tampering with evidence.  Dojack is set for trial in January.

nic-cage.jpg

Nicolas "Can't Quite Get It Right" Cage has another lawsuit on his hands.  Yes, another one!  This time an investment company is seeking $3 million from the actor.  And honestly, I don't think he even has that much. SMH.

According to Access Hollywood, the lawsuit states that Red Curb Investments is suing Nicolas for at least $2,943,486.64 (LOL @ the 64 cents) which is related to a loan that the company claims Nicolas defaulted on.

Red Curb is seeking $1,093,216.97 for an unpaid balance and accrued interest over default on a promissory note related to an original amount of $3.5 million, which was loaned out in July 2007.  AND, they want the court to award them $1,850,269.67 from a balloon note ( a type of loan extension), which was allegedly due in August 2008.  They are also suing for collection expenses, attorney's fees and costs related to the promissory notes and guarantees.

SMH.  Shame, shame, shame.  How in the world do you have all that money and not pay your bills!? I don't understand it.  Not to mention, Nicolas just lost two of his New Orleans homes to foreclosure and the IRS claims that he owes them over $6 million back taxes.  I mean, dang.  At the rate your debt is stacking up, Nicolas, you better be putting out a film every month this year to pay it back!  Get it together.

taylor-taylor.jpg

Um, that would be Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner. And, they're no longer together.

Sources have confirmed that the Teen Team have officially broken up.  But, um, it sounds like girl-Taylor doesn't even care.  According to a source, the country singer and Twilight star broke up because "it wasn't really developing into anything, and wasn't going to so, they decided they were better as friends...There was no chemistry."

And that same source says that basically girl-Taylor didn't even like boy-Taylor.  "He liked her more than she liked him," said the source.

LOL! Well, dang girl-Taylor.  Still a lil salty about that Joe Jonas voicemail break-up and decided to just grab the first guy that you could...and then break his heart? LOL lemme stop.  Well, at least they are planning to stay friends. LOL
