Crowned: Daredevil Divas Win It All!

Daredevil Divas Moya and Jenileigh
The Daredevil Divas won, and we're pretty happy about it -- are you? They actually seem to like each other, they're beautiful in unconventional ways (we love how muscular Jenileigh is -- she's no waif), and their talent portion was pretty darn cool.

Besides the Daredevils, though, last night's Crowned finale still had a lot to offer: painfully iridescent gowns, awkward declarations of philanthropy, and an earsplitting "talent" portion from the Sincere Sexy Reds. In short, it was a fitting end to a show that's always made us feel equal parts amused and embarrassed.

In true pageant style, the show culminated in a series of competitions: swimsuit, evening gown, talent, and interview. Swimsuit and evening gown were relatively uneventful, but the competition heated up during the talent portion. The Daredevil Divas rocked the house with their aerial number (though Jenileigh once again did most of the work, even though Moya gamely tried to get more involved this time around). Dream Gals tried their hand at accapella singing, and they fared better than before, but they still didn't totally wow us -- or the judges. Then there were the Sincere Sexy Reds. Breathlessly clueless until the end, the pair's rendition of "Climb Every Mountain" was worse than before -- something we didn't think was possible! The talent competition got fierce, though, when Gifted Dolls performed their dance number. This time Rachelle's hat stayed on and the dolls were in sync.

The Sincere Sexies were the victims of an ambush desashing (gasp!) after completely blowing their Sound of Music piece... and we loved every minute. While they're not really worthy of making it to the finale, the pair is just pure entertainment value. The Crowned editors had so much fun with them, too -- we loved how near the beginning of the ep, Laura voiceovered about her and her mom's great relationship... and the editors cut to Laura ripping on her mom's walking ability and rolling her eyes repeatedly. Awesome.

Hollis and Gina, our early favorites, clearly weren't going to win this thing -- they had no sob story, no real evolution, and they were almost cloyingly sweet at times. Still, we were happy to see them place third -- and more importantly, above the horrid Sincere Sexies!

As for the Gifted Dolls, save for their kidney transplant backstory, they weren't the most memorable pair. What we will give them is that they had the best interview answer. Instead of giving a number or a percentage when asked how much of their $100,000 prize they'd give to charity, they just said "As much as we'd need to." Brilliant! No one could fault them for that, and they still sounded philanthropic. Meanwhile, the Dream Gals were too precise with their ten percent. It was still a decent sum, but compared to the others they ended up sounding cheap. In an overwhelming burst of generosity, the Daredevils offered to give ALL -- we'd love to know if they were held to that! We also would have loved to see how the Sincere Sexy Reds would have answered this question. Too bad they'd already been desashed.

So what did you think of the finale? Did the best team win? Which competition was your favorite? And would you watch another round of Crowned, or have you had your fill?

Even though I was going for Dream Gals - i was disappointed by their interview. In addition, for them to say 10% was just very weird and incosiderate. I am glad that Daredevil Divas won, they deserved it. They were always well balanced it their behavior, their attitude towards other. Also, their answers on the final interview were the best!!! Good job!!!!!!!!!!
