Crowned: Entertaining Guests, Kind of Entertaining Us
Last night's episode of Crowned was both a hit and a miss for us at the CW Source. While we weren't terribly surprised at the outcome, we were a bit upset to see one of our favorite mother/daughter duos leave.
First things first. The girls got their casual clothes on and headed to a dance studio to learn the opening routine for the finale. They were greeted by all of the past desashed contestants and as per usual, our favorite red-headed grinch, Laura, barked instructions at Patty.
Later the women were told that they would have to prepare a special party for some V.I.P. guests who would be judging them on their looks, social graces and the meals they prepared. We're not going to lie; Gina got on our nerves a bit as she tried to take control of all the planning. She's a party planner, we get it; but there are other women there who are fully capable of giving their input when it comes to hosting.
The doorbells rings, and who are our V.I.P.s? The people we've been waiting to meet this entire time! YES! The husbands, boyfriends, bffs and brothers of the contestants! I believe it was in our first podcast where Jackie and I spoke about how much we wanted to see the fools men who married Patty and Laura. They seemed just as timid as we expected. What shocked us was Gina's gross makeout session with her boyfriend in the middle of one of the common areas. Hollis was visibly disturbed, and quite frankly we don't blame her. In fact, it's hard to say if it was the Maui Wowie chicken that made Patty throw up or if she had just caught a glimpse of Gina playing tonsil hockey.
Speaking of Patty throwing up, why didn't anyone bring her into the bathroom to take care of business? Laura just sat there looking disgusted, as though she were going to yell at her mother at any second. Patty's hubby could've picked her up, she can't weigh more than a buck o' five. Or better yet, he and Laura's beau could've carried her from either end and started swinging her around. Now THAT's entertainment.
Things cooled off by the next morning and Gina apologized to Hollis for her behavior. The girls needed to prepare for that night's challenge with the judges: the question and answer session. Each mother/daughter duo stood before the judges and were asked questions such as, "What quality of your (teammate) would you want to possess most," "Which of the other teams does not deserve to be here," and "What about your (teammate's) generation do you not understand". While each of us at the Source admitted that we would've been jumping up and down outing the Sincere Sexy Reds as the team that needs to pack its bags, the "good girls" never called anyone out. Patty and Laura couldn't help themselves when it came to showing their hatred for Gina and Hollis, and Christan and Ada chose Jenileigh and Moya as the duo they thought should go home. Unfortunately for the Blessed Beauties, all of their answers were incredibly lame. It just didn't seem like they understood what kinds of answers the judges were looking for. So, it was with great sadness that we had to watch the bedazzled scissors cut through Ada and Christan's sashes. Check out our CW Source Podcast to hear all of our opinions from this episode.
Next week is the Crowned season finale; we're not sure that we can pick a winner just yet. What do you think? What did you think of this episode? Did the right team go home? Was it really the chicken that made Patty ill? Is it even possible that Patty and Laura could win this thing?

Jenny, settle down. Supernatural is still on the air, and actually has four new episodes in a row, beginning next Thur., Jan. 31. The CW is obviously using the strike situation to give newer shows some different timeslot exposure (Reaper, Gossip Girl), to see if a 2nd season is merited.
Do you really think the network would dump one of its premier assets, Supernatural? Let's face it, with Lost now on Thursdays, our boys wouldn't be getting the repeat viewers they normally would.

I can't believe the cw took the best show that they have off the air!!! I am so disappointed. I've tried watching some of the other shows that they air and they just plain suck! Smallville has gotten so boring and all the new shows they are bringing on, I could care less about. Supernatural was the one good thing they had. Not only for the obvious reason of EYE CANDY!!! It had a very good story line. The relationship between the brothers and the definite "chemistry" between Jared and Jensen. The show kept you hooked and wanting more. I loved watching the brothers deal with new issues and all of Dean's smart a*# comments. I hope the cw does what it needs to, to make sure supernatural gets back on tv. Otherwise I'm sure that the cw WILL loose a lot of loyal viewers like myself!
