One Tree Hill: Flashing Back Three Years
We finally got the flashback ep we were hankering for. But what did we really learn? We learned that three years earlier the Cobras (Really? Were all the other cool team names taken?) won their first championship game with Nathan carrying the team, Whitey coaching, and Lucas acting as the assistant coach. Whitey retired before the game even ended and he got Lucas the job as the new head coach.
Taking Whitey’s “There’s more important things than basketball” advice to heart, Lucas headed directly from the game bus to the airport. He was excited about the future and decided he needed to spend it with Peyton. But she wasn’t ready for that.
How could Peyton not see the popping the question thing coming a mile away? The boy dressed up, did the fancy dinner thing and got a room at a super swanky hotel! Maybe it was because she was distracted by her miserable mail room job. We knew they would break up, but we figured it would have been over something catastrophic. One year earlier Peyton was ready to give up her BFF for this guy, and now they’re just going to split forever over a little thing like geography?
We did learn that Lindsey was rooting for the Luke and Peyton in the novel when she first read it. How much things can change in three years!
What we loved:
We knew that Lucas helped Nathan and his family get though the early years, between school and basketball and diapers—they needed it! But we didn’t ever get to see it firsthand. We loved seeing them all together as a family. How cute was it that little Jamie’s first word was ball!
We loved the timing in the episode. It was so sweet that just as Lucas was suffering so much from Peyton’s rejection, he got the acceptance of his life. He got the call that they were going to publish his book as he stood in the line at the airport trying to get out of L.A.!
We especially enjoyed seeing Lucas and Brooke in NYC together celebrating their successes. Who knew that flashing an engagement ring could score you freebies all over the Big Apple? But we didn’t love seeing Lucas be so stupid and try to kiss Brooke mere hours after he and Peyton split.
And we really love the fact that Lucas never got rid of the engagement ring. He still keeps it in his sock drawer and looks at it from time to time.
What we didn’t love:
What’s up with Nathan’s black socks? The rest of the basketball team had the good sense to wear white socks with their uniform. There’s just no excuse for that—especially since he was probably the only one on the team who had a wife!
We hate that Nathan didn’t take Whitey’s advice. The Coach reminded him not to let his temper to get the best of him or he’d end up bitter and regretful like his old man. Oops.
And speaking of Whitey, we didn’t appreciate them leaving us hanging about the man. What happened to him? Did he really retire after just one year as a college coach? We haven’t seen him in any of the current episodes and frankly, we’re nervous.
We really didn’t like the fact that Lucas gave Lindsey the original bamboo plant. It kind of changes everything about her being thoughtful and sweet with the gifting. She was clearly marking her territory when she gave the plants to Brooke and Peyton. Literary hussy!
And finally, we wanted to scream at the TV when, back in the now, Brooke pieced it all together and asked Lucas if he still loves Peyton and he simply replied, “I’ve got to get back to Lindsey.”

NALEY, BRUCAS AND JEYTON!!! A ll the way i deserve they all should fall in love but with the right people...open your eyes guys Brooke and Lucas have always been meant for each other there love is true and withstood so much pain and heartache but they got through it only to be stronger and Peyton and jake come on the best he loved her with such a passion and her to him too jenny was the apple of her eye how could she just forget that?? She hasn't she still loves Jake bring him back

i think peyton and lucas are NOT meant for each other. peyton is a liar and cheater and always trys to take him from pther people. first brooke now lindsey. i really hate lindsey though and i would rather lucas marry another guy then her. but lucas went after brooke twice and he never went after peyton she just went after him. and when brooke said i love you to him he didnt say "oh" like with peyton he said i love you too.

This show has went down hill,Im a major Brucas fan and Im so sick of the writers going out of their way to bash the couple I like and make it look like brucas meant nothing thats unbelievably cruel to a fanbase(blers) who have stuck by this show for so long.
I dont care whether Mark wants Lp or whatever at the end of the day why does he feel the need to try and destroy brucas to get what he wants? This is ridiculous.So much for him saying on the podcast that bl fans arent ignored hmm yeah right sure we were ignored in season 4 and now we are in season 5 and when Bl isnt ignored and aknowledged in the episode its only so they can be torn down and so the knife can be stuck in further,pathetic

brooke and lucas should be together. lucas and peyton was more of a relationship that started b.c. peyton was pushed away from jake b.c. of what she said in a dream and lucas was pushed towards peyton by brooke. i think they love each other but as very dear friends but what brooke and lucas have is true love. i think peyton and luke both need to come to the realization that together their in love with the idea of being in love and that they both have other people that they love.

Lucas was a bit impulsive and not very understanding(Peyton did have alot of trauma in her life and needed some stability before plunging into marriage) but not uncommon for the male figure to focus on his own goals and being rather selfish.(As Lucas has demonstrated in the past)
But Lindsay, not a fit, with Lucas or with the show. The writers need to do something with her role.
But the big question that no one is asking and I can't seem to find the answer is "what happened to Nathan that he limps and needs therapy?"

OMG!!! Last weeks episode was fantastic. I loved the idea of doing flashbacks, because, HELLO! I want to know what was going on with the Tree Hillians during those years that we skipped.
Pretty much everything in this episode was intense, but I must say that the most unbelievable part was when Lucas said, "I've got to get back to Lindsey." ARE YOU KIDDING? 1) that makes it OBVIOUS that he still loves Peyton and 2) what he needs to do is get back to Peyton. I have always been a Brucas fan, but seriously, everyone knows that Peyton and Lucas are destined for each other. Lucas screwed Brooke over one too many times anyway.
I am loving the Scott family! I love Jamie and I love love love the new Nathan. But I do not love the new nanny. That girl needs to step away from Naley!
And I REALLY need to know where Whitey is... He better be happy in Florida or something.
More flashbacks!!!

peyton and lucas have been fighting to be together since the first season and finally at the end of season four the got together and it was great everyone new it was coming they have been fighting there fealings for eachother from the beginning i thought brook and him where good together but i think lucas made brook a better person but she did not complement him in the same way peyton brings out the best and the worst in lucas and you can say the same for him with her they belong together and need to get back together as for him with linsay it is boring there is no flame therre it needs to end the sooner the better

I also love peyton and lucas together. I was kinda confusef on how they broke up and after watching 506 i feel they both gave up on eachother though peyton turned herself around and gave everything up for him. He was the one to go out with lindsay after a kiss. Kinda fast to me. But i think lindsay is just annoying and i think the people in OTH need to think of how they'd feel if someone is with the person u loved. You wouldn't like them would you? Haley should think if nathan were with someone else and everyone liked her how would she feel? I hope sometime in the future peyton and lucas get back together and there's more seasons to come.

peyton and lucas belong together and i wish they get rid of this lindsey girl. lucas left peyton wrong, by leaving the cd next to her, she never said no, she said someday and she said she did love him and wanted to always be with him. and he just left. and that was the end of that. they will get back together. the chemistry is still there and they both love each other still. cant wait for them to get back together and for lindsey to get out of the picture!!!

Lucas and Peyton are made to be together. It's obvious.
Lucas felt in love for her from the 1 episode. Brooke was in his heart too, but not as much as peyton is! Brooke is friend with luke and it's peyton best friend. It is the way it's suppose to be;
From the biginning of the season 5 we can easily see that leyton think of eachother eally often (too often for a guy who is supposed to be in love with lindsey).
So please, i'm begging you... I really really want a leyton wedding ! True love never fades. I want them to be together forever. PLEASE !
ps : not that i don't like brucas, but if it end like this... i will really don't understand.Remember that everytime lucas was with brooke, peyton was still in is heart ! Caro from belgium

I only started watching One Tree Hill about a month ago, but in that month I have watched every episode, and even traveled to Wilmington to see the city that has truly inspired me. Brooke and Lucas remind me of a little bit of everyone. They truly have a unconditional love that has transended throughout each season. I would like to see them get married on the show and have a happy ending. Brooke has the biggest heart of any of the characters on the show and I think that everyone can see a little bit of themselves in her through her triumphs, heartache, and her her unfailing love for those around her. Brooke Davis is truly inspiring.

Please have Lucas and Peyton getting back together. Its not that I don't like Lindsey, its just that I don't want Lindsey with Lucas. I miss Karen and her advice, & also miss Bevin she was so funny. But for now we just need to be happy we have new shows & pray for the writter strike to end or OTH will end no matter what the fans want. But I love the show, I have since the 1st episode but if Lucas marries Lindsey & Brooke don't break loose from her witch of a mom its just not going to be worth watching.

I loved last week's episode of OTH. it gave us the information we needed to understand why leyton broke up and should us more of the old Naley when they were happy. I am a true Leyton fan and cannot wait until they get back together because i always looked at there relationship as Lucas being her prince charming becuae even when he was with brooke you could tell that he was in love with Peyton by the way he acted. Peyton was his true highschool crush because on the very first episode they say that lucas had a crush on Peyton it was awesome. I hope they work it out and i was a little dissappointed that Lucas gave the lucky bamboo it took away from lindsey not marking her territory and she was jsut being generous but then again it showed us that she is worried about brooke and peyton and it makes it a more easy to believe that lindsey loves lucas but i still don't like the idea of them together i just don't feel the connection.I hope that lucas does not use the engagement ring that he had for peyton for lindey becuase if he does Brooke is gonna know and she is gonna kick his butt lol.

Bring Brucas back, they belong together. Their scenes just make my heart melt, they have AMAZING chemistry.
Lucas and Peyton on the other hand are better of as friends, their scenes always make me feel uncomfortable. Brucas have had three seasons worth of build up to finally reach a point where they are both happy and secure enough about themselves to really love and commit to eachother.

I don't think that Lucas overreacted, because as was mentioned in the episode, Peyton had lost touch with Lucas and Brooke. So I'm thinking he thought that he had one last chance to fight for her until they just drifted apart - which usually happens in a long distance relationship. People have their own lives, and then they find people who are involved in that new life. I did want to see Brooke and Lucas hook up, but I don't see it happening because of the stress it would cause on the actors, which I can completly understand. I'm just glad that the show is back on, it is doing extremely well, and the four year jump is proving to be a huge success. :)

with the exception of jamie, i hate all the new characters. lindsey and lucas have about as much excitement as standing water.the show has tried to replace smooth, crafty dan, with a series of nasty women.i play sports, if i ever spoke to my coaches like quintin, i would be out on my butt. i know things had to change, but these new characters r like anchors, to the show.

Brooke and Lucas were amazing together. They have such great chemistry. Brooke is hands down the best character on the show and even though Lucas doesn't deserve her, I'd rather see them together, having fun, than see Pucas praying to the devil or whatever they do in their free time.

I watch One Tree Hill since the first episode and I'm totally for Brooke and Lucas come back. Each time I listen to a t.v serie, it end up on the opposite way that I expect. This time, I wish that everything end good... It means that Brooke and Lucas end up together.

i love brooke and lucas as friends, as lovers, i just love them in general. i always thought their connection was stronger than LP's. i think LP are great friends, but the difference between friends and lovers is passion. and everyone knows brooke and lucas have all that and then some! i look at scenes from seasons 2 and 3 and Lucas is obviously so incredibly smitten/ head over heels in love with brooke. however, i do think he subconsciously had lingering feelings for peyton. brooke realized that and-excuse the cheesy saying- set him free. and by watching 5x05 its so clear she is still into him, but like she says, loves both lucas and peyton too much to act on it. so she suffers in silence. i love her for that. if the writers have any sense at all, they'll give BL their happy ending.

The ep was good..but for me personaly i finally allowd my slef to stop blaming peyton for the love triangle mess and realize that its Lucas' fault and it always has been. I thought the proposal was more on his side, i feel that peyton has yet to grow up...at that time anyways. I loved all teh Brucas stuff cause there amazing...and the best part was when Victoria told Brooke to not through away her dreams and Brooke said Lucas Scott wouldve been the one boy i wouldve thrown it all way for...i think that says alot for them as a couple and personally. And also can we please get over Lucas and Peyton...im so sick of it..they shouldve been done a long time ago casuse Chad doesnt deseerve anyone...thats all.

You know its amazing because my sister and brother and family and friends dont always come on line to check this stuff out but if one thing we all agree that Brook and Lucas need to be the ones together forever. I mean brook is so outgoing and understands luke and luke is not outgoing really his and her chemistry are a spark of greatness! Ive been watching forever and for at least 3.5 out of barely 5 seasons Luke regreted letting brooke go, and said he loved her alot, so i think it makes no sense to act like they shouldnt be together i think and many other viewers think the writers will ReGRET not putting Brucas together again forever! You cant rewrite a show because of the actors personal divorce.

This was an incredible episode, I don´t think I´ve ever felt so happy and sad at the same time. The proposal/break up scene was one of the most emotional scenes between Lucas and Peyton during the 5 seasons of the show, it broke my heart but I still loved it.. and Where I stood playing in the background was just amazing! oh and I absolutely loved the 406 flashback at the begining of the episode :)
I enjoyed Brooke and Lucas as friends, I believe they are great as friends, and I absolutely loved what Brooke said to him after he tried to kiss her..
and then Nathan/Haley/Jamie *thud* they all made me believe in love again, their scenes were really sweet..
Anyway, I know that this is all in the past.. so now I´m looking forward to seeing what comes next, after the end of this episode with Brooke asking if he still loved peyton and lucas not answering, I think he still has feelings for her.. so we´ll see. I just think Lucas and Peyton belong together so I hope in my heart that that´s the way it´s gonna be :)

PS: I hate the fact that every single pool, no matter what it´s about, always ends with LP fans versus BL fans. I´m just tired of it. *sigh*

Peyton and Lucas broke my heart. Seeing them in so much agony was painful, but made me even more hopeful to see them confront each other this season about their issues. I loved how the writers portrayed both sides. There was no right and no wrong, just unfortunate circumstances.
I love how this ep focused on the main 5. I wish all the episodes were like this.
Brooke's residual feelings for Lucas were kind of random, but I thought Sophia did great in that scene. BL are great as friends, but nothing more.
I also really enjoyed the music in this episode.

Please - how do you expect an accurate opinion of the proposal when you put 3 possible Leyton answers and 1 Brucas - it's obvious where that's going to end up. Split the Leyton votes and concentrate the Brucas votes?!! you might as well delete that poll.

Well, the last episode certainly answered a lot of questions regarding Leyton, their demise and the ring. Lucas shouldn't have taken Peyton's response so harshly. This episode makes it absolutely apparent that she broke his heart. It moved me to tears as the issues weren't unfamiliar - we all know that distance tears the closest of people apart over time and seeing your ex can be very trying indeed, even after a few years if you still love them. In Season 5, I feel sorry for her but I can't help but feel that she brought it on herself, too.
I also love how Peyton and Brooke are still such close friends and that Brooke came back to give Peyton the moral support she really needs at this rate.

I wasn't in love with this episode like I have been with the others this season. I know it was a flash back about Lucas and his first year of college, but wasn't Nathan and Haley apart of that? I'm a huge Naley fan and would like to see more of them.
I think it was Lucas' fault that he and Peyton broke up. He should have seen that Peyton hasn't accomplished what she went to L.A. to do and that she wanted to do more before she settled down. If he loved her as much as he says he did he would have stayed and accepted her decision. She said she just didn't want to get married now. Not every couple can be Nathan and Haley, they've had their issues as well.
I still think that Victoria is riding on the coat tails of Brooke. She is trying to live the life she has always wanted through her daughters clothing line.
As far as the black socks thing with Nathan, if you noticed he always wore black socks in high school. I just think that's his thing.
Even though there wasn't enough Nathan and Haley in this episode as I would like. I liked the little scene at the end with them starting to get back to the couple they were. You can tell it's been a while and they just want to be with each other. However, with the scenes for next week I'm thinking it's going to be short lived.

How could you not have the Nathan and Haley kiss up there in the "what we loved" part. It was the best part. finally! and the nanny/Nathan thing in the scenes is obviously a dream. Nathan has proven by now that hes not a cheater and that he loves Haley and his family alot. but the nanny still kind of worries me, I don't trust her.

I can't handle much more of the Pucas. I don't see them meant to be. Their relationship was so forced together in season 4 that it made me sick. I want my Brucas back.

The break-up between Lucas and Peyton so sad, it was so devasting. Like it was neither of their faults, it just wasnt the right time. We obviously know they are in love with each other and want to be together-in the past and present. We just need Lucas to not be stupid, haha.
Even Brooke knows they are meant to be together.

I just hate that in the past they had all these people in the picture and now it's only the five of them. And then Mouth wasn't really in the picture and then was and now what...Yeah, Karen,Lily,Deb???? I miss the story lines. The flashback eplisode was alright, nice to know what happened but still not everything was answered. I like the new season but I kind of wish is was more like the last seasons maybe not so far ahead in the future? I want Peyton and Lucas to be together and Nathan and Haley and Jamie/James(what IS his name?) to be a family again..the nanny thing, what the heck?? What happened to Rachel and Chase and Bevin??? I don't like having to learn everything thing again like meeting the characters for the first time...some may questions, not soo many answers, it sucks...But I'll kept watching..I love OTH!!!I guess it makes it interesting though.

Seeing Lucas and Peyton together (the chemistry was intense) just reminds me how bland Lindsey and Lucas are. There is NO chemistry there!
Brooke is so much better as Lucas' friend and Peyton's best friend. Loved her comment at the end of the episode - "you still love her don't you - Peyton" and when he kissed her - the second stupidest thing he'd done in 24 hours.
I still want to see her let her Mom have it!

This episode was so great, reminds me of why I love the show! It was nice to have some basketball on the show like the old days - they always do such a great job. As for Nathan's socks: Hello! Black socks are his trademark since season 1, not to mention the fact that they are incredibly sexy on him. I don't know what it is, but my friends and I always loved him in black socks.
I actually really liked the way they showes Luke and Peyton's breakup. Its not that I wanted them to break up necessarily, but it was very realistic. Long distance is hard and confusing, I don't blame Peyton for wanting a new life in LA and an engagement isn't going to solve their problems. Oh, and I loved the Naley marriage references throughout - funny!
It was nice to see Brooke and Luke back together as friends. All their scenes together were awesome as usual, it just looks like they have fun. Obviously Brooke did the right thing by pushing away a drunk Lucas, but you could tell it was kind of hard for her. Interesting how that made her throw herself into her work and business with Victoria ("Call me Victoria" haha).
It was so great to see Nathan and Haley three years ago with little Jamie. I'm glad the writers didn't gloss over how hard college was for them with a kid. How adorable was that scene playing on the floor with Jamie?!! As for the final Naley kiss all I can say is finally!!!! I mean, I'm glad they didn't rush it because they are still going through some tough stuff, but I think all the Naley fans really needed it! The kiss was so hot and you could tell they were both hesitant but really wanted to be that close to one another again. Hopefully, they are on the right track. I'm just going to assume that crazy scene from the promo is a dream sequence...*gag*
This season is really moving in the right direction, keep up the good work! Or I guess I should say enjoy your break during the writer's strike...hopefully they can come back soon!!

I just loved that Brooke was the one who was there when his (lucas) dreams came true. And I loved the fact that Brooke still have feeling for Lucsa because she dived (jumped) into clothes over broes again the take away the pain, the pain that she misses Lucas. And most of al I loved that Brooke told that Lucas Scott would be the guy that she lost everything for.
So at the end it is Brooke og Lucas who will end på together.
