Smallville: Pete Ross Returns!
Hooray! We got to see Pete again on Smallville! We’ve missed him. Apparently, he’s spent his time away from Smallville being a roadie for indie bands and developing some sort of chewing gum addiction. That’s the only explanation we can come up with for why he was so desperate for a piece of gum when we first saw him, and why someone who grew up in Meteor Central wouldn’t realize that chowing down on something green and glowing tends to have consequences.
But enough about that minor quibble. Pete’s ill-advised chew break gave him super-stretchy superpowers, which he used to rescue Kara from certain death. He immediately goes back to the Kent farm to show off to Clark -- and is surprised and more than a little hurt to find Lionel there. Pete decides it’s time for heroes to stop hiding in the shadows, and he’s determined to be the poster boy for the meteor-infected masses. He agrees to an interview with Jimmy, and he casually stretches his arms across the office to give Chloe a rose.
Of course, with great power comes great problems (isn’t that the way the saying goes?) First, the Kryptonite starts messing with Pete’s head, making him ill tempered and rash. When Chloe mentions that Lex is using his position as the owner of the newspaper to siphon all her work off her computer, Pete decides to infect the Daily Planet system with a massive virus. (Apparently, that strategy makes sense when your brain’s on Kryptonite). Lex catches him, and blackmails Pete into helping him out -- steal Kara’s bracelet from Lionel’s safe, or I tell the world that Chloe is a meteor freak. If that wasn’t bad enough, Jimmy was listening right outside the door! Now he knows about Chloe!
Pete breaks into the safe and sees Lionel’s stash -- including some handy Kryptonite. When Clark comes to the office to tell Pete he needs to be careful, and that the Kryptonite is making him irrational, Pete responds by hitting him with the green stuff and heading out to kill Lex. Unfortunately, one of Lex’s thugs smacks the gum out of Pete’s mouth and he loses he powers. Lex tortures him for information about the bracelet, but Pete won’t give in. Good thing Lionel found Clark and removed the Kryptonite so Clark could rescue his best bud, right?
In other news, Kara is still trying to get her memory back, and it’s not working. If only they had her bracelet -- and hey, what was that doing in Lionel’s safe, anyway? A couple of clumsy lies on Clark and Lana’s part make Kara decide that the only person she can really trust is Lex. She appears at the mansion and asks if she can stay with him. Oh please -- like he’s going to say no to that?
What did you think? Why was Lionel keeping the bracelet from Clark and Kara? What’s the deal with the astronomy research Lex was doing? Will Chloe and Jimmy get back together, or should she run away with Pete? Vote in our polls and tells us what you think in the comments!

Tom Welling should have more screen time.
Hopefully he'll get the part of Superman for JLA and/or Superman reboot.
I just found this petition supporting Welling to get the part. I already signed it.
It started like few days ago and already it's over 100 signatures.

I thought Jimmy already knew too.
Do the producers/writers even watch their own show?!

I thought that Jimmy knew all about Chloe. She told him in the elevator when they were stuck and then showed him her powers when she healed his hand. Am I wrong?
