Top Model: Makeover Madness! Plus, a Lingerie Shoot
It's a known fact that the makeovers on Top Model don't necessarily leave the models looking BETTER (see Cycle 8's Brittany). But we had high hopes this season -- the Cycle 10 girls are a feisty, fun crop with real potential.
A few girls lucked out. We liked Fatima's long weave -- it instantly transformed her and somehow made her seem more statuesque and modelesque than before. Katarzyna didn't have a huge change, but she's pulling off the darker hair. And Lauren gets our vote for the best transformation. It just took some face-framing longer locks and we almost forgot how awkward she can be. Also: Lauren, stop telling us how punk rock you are and how you can't walk in heels. Tyra didn't come to your house, tie you up, and force you to be on this show (we hope). You did know you were signing up to be on a modeling show, right?
Sadly, several of them got royally screwed, we think. Who do you think had the worst makeover?

Speaking of Tyra, she was really over-the-top (even for her) this episode, demanding that Nigel feel her booty and mocking the girls on Tyravision.
How we miss the chill, laid-back Tyra of earlier cycles -- you know, the one that actually seemed to have a soul. It's way out of line to mock Anya's accent or Stacy Ann's cheeriness. Tyra, why don't you get back to doing what you're there to do: offer them MODELING advice. This isn't accent camp!
We were happy to see Claire win the Cover Girl challenge. It's not even that we think she's necessarily the best model, or the best at putting on makeup in a three-minute frenzy. We just like her (which is more than we can say for most of these gals) -- she seems genuine, sweet, and kind...
...unlike the participants in this week's house fight, Fatima and Allison. In a series of how-low-can-she-go insults, the girls went from mild ("Well, you're bigger than me, so that's why your butt is bigger") to unacceptable (Allison's comments about black girls) in a matter of minutes. Also, why was Allison playing with dolls? Why did she even bring them to the house? Whitney looked as confused as we did while watching that segment.
This week's photo shoot was a lingerie shoot, and Lauren got called first! On this show, you can either succeed by being yourself (quirky Lauren, tough-as-nails Marvita), or you go down in flames. Prime example: Allison.
Ultimately, it came down to Allison and Dominique at elimination time. And for being too cocky and not knowing how to say thank you (because we all know good models are unfailingly polite and humble), Allison got the boot. We have to wonder if her comments at the house played a part in this elimination, since she hadn't really gotten that much criticism from the judges until this week. I can't stand Claire and Lauren at all. I think Katarzyna and Dominique are the best. I don't like Dominique's makeover, though.

These makeovers were totally animal themed...first Marvita's horse-mane thing (which i admit wasn't as bad as i thought it'd be), but Anya's makeover makes here look like a vulture and Stacey-Ann's makes her look like a duck...
And seriously, Tyra, you're supposed to be a mentor to these girls, give them some good advice

I've never liked platinum blonde on any of the models, and now they had to do this to two of the strongest competitors: Anya and Claire. Why?

i love how they give dominique this plain bob that does nothing for her and totally ages her and then they tell her oh, you look like a soccer mom. That's a little bit ridiculous. having said that, I think the rest of the makeovers are pretty good - i actually love the blonde on claire and i think aimee's red hair looks amazing on her! as for how tyra's acting - i completely 100% agree - her antics are really annoying. i'm still waiting to be really floored with one of the pictures and i haven't yet... i guess i'll just have to wait.

half of them i cant remember their names which means they dont stand out from the crowd , which is crucial.i remember only claire,whitney,marvita,aime
e and fatima.I LOVE TYRA and i dont think she that different from the last seasons but i do think the accent coping is really annoying. this is my fav model-Whitney,these are the ones i like claire and lauren...

I don't like this season. I don't like most of the girls,the photo shoots and Tyra's behavior. The makeovers weren't good except for Fatima,Marvita,Claire and Whitney. Claire's hair is too light. Whitney was discriminated against. Fatima was wrong to say that to Allison but Allison was racial and crossed the line. Fatima needs to learn not to say mean things to girls' faces-even if they're true.

Iam glad that Allison is gone - she is cocky, weird , and those dolls were just the last straw that broke camel's back.
Tyra- I love you, but these comments and mocking girls' accents are unnecessary. It should be really professional and give girls good advices. Please stop hitting on Nigel.
Dominique gotta go, she does have men's features, but thinks of herself too much instead of performing.
Claire and Katarzyna are my favorites!!! Good luck girls.

Ok, so Dominique looked "cataloguey" and like a "soccer mom"...well whose fault is that? They did NOTHING interesting with her hair or makeup, and I feel like they are so full of themselves they don't give really good feedback to the girls these days. The show is basically making a mockery of itself. Tyra seems like she is taking crazy pills. They are losing credibility more and more every season.
