Privileged: All About a Brand New You

A wedding, some philosophical differences, two break-ups and Rose swinging around the house on a zip wire. Talk about packing a lot into the Privileged season finale!

The backdrop for last’s night drama was the planning and eventual nuptials of the recently engaged Marco and Keith. With Kathy Griffin making a guest appearance as their wedding planner, these two are the only couple who looks like they will be around for season two (if there is one). On a side note, we expected funnier, better timed lines written for this well-known, d-list guest star.

The wedding plays a major role in Luis and Sage breaking up and serves as the grounds for Megan’s moment of spontaneity (a.k.a. the cute British guy). We’ll get to Megan in a moment. Just like Sage, we were bummed that Luis refused to attend the wedding. We know he is very religious, so when he refused to go Sage breaks it off. It’s not like she didn’t try to get past it. She even prepares a speech she wanted to give to Luis to try and change is mind. He totally snubbed her on it.

It was actually really sad. We loved this relationship from the start. It was almost a story of Romeo and Juliet. Too bad Romeo was unyielding in his beliefs. Sage realizes this inability to accept or try something new and different is totally opposite of how she wants to live her life. To see the expression on her face as she realizes what she is about to suggest is by far the most heartbreaking moment of the season. Ashley Newbrough gets our award for best scene of the night.

Less interesting but still important is Rose and Sage deciding that, for the first time, they won’t spend spring break together. Instead, Rose is off to the to the “northern Minnesota frozen wilderness” to find herself. After some “sisterly discussion” with Sage, Rose finally owns up to the fact that this trip might change her. With Rose, we get the feeling that things might not be the same if we get to see her again.

And for Megan, she couldn’t have picked a worst time to become "adventurous." At the start of the episode, things didn't seem so bad between our on-the-rocks couple, despite the way things ended last week. They bury themselves in their work -- but when work on the magazine gets tough for Will, they start fighting, and end up breaking up.

The breakdown goes like this: Will wants to blow off David, who is obsessing about the perfect layout for the magazine launch. Megan thinks Will is being irresponsible and unappreciative of the opportunity given to him. She goes on to say that he shouldn’t blow off David for Marco’s wedding, basically telling him straight up that he takes his job for granted because he’s been handed things his whole life. He calls her a type “A” personality who makes things harder than needed. Talk about opening a can of worms! That's one way to end a relationship...

As the night progresses we get the feeling that both of them get a better idea of the points brought up in the argument. Will realizes what Megan meant after he finally does some work, is uber proud of and gets plenty praise from David. Megan’s epiphany comes after talking to Laurel who, by the way, loves the first part of the biography Megan turned in. Too bad for Megan that she chooses to break out of her type “A” personality by sleeping with some random, but very handsome, guy from the wedding. We know! We thought the same thing: “That’s so unlike Megan”!

Expectantly, Will calls Megan the next morning to apologize and they talk to the point it looks like they might make up. Hooray! Just as Megan hangs up the phone, in which Will says he’ll be over in 10, the British guy from the wedding pops up from the blankets next to her. If you get the feeling you might have seen this play out someplace else before, think Friends and Ross and Rachel’s “we were on a break” issue.

We have to admit at this point we feel a little cheated. The plotline for JoAnna Garcia and Brian Hallisay could have been a little deeper and perhaps not practically ripped from Friends. What did you think about the situation? Did it leave you wanting more? Will you be turning in to a second season if the CW decides to continue it? Let us know below.

oh my gosh! i can not even begin to tell you how much i love privileged! me and my mom watched every episode and never missed a single one! and now we have no idea what is going on. :( please re-new privileged for a second season! it is wayyy better than half the tv shows, besides one tree hill on the cw. it's one of the best i've seen in a long time one this network!!

I really Hope they make a season 2 I love this show!!!!!!!!! I have just started getting into it in reruns and already want more PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make season 2!!!

I love Privileged! Hoping for Season 2, 3, 4. This show is certainly better than a lot of other mundane shows! This and Gossip Girl rock! Although Megan can be really annoying at times. And Will is way too cute for her!

I really enjoyed Season 1 of Privileged, and I'm really rooting for Megan as she struggles to balance work, family and romance with her desire to become a writer. But I honestly have to admit, as cute as Will and Megan look together, the relationship just oozes tension at this point. I'd like to see him remain in the show, as a friend/confidant/one that got away... but I think he and Megan need to stay on a break for a while. Megan has lost her power in the relationship, and I don't like to see her as a timid girlfriend, pining away for Will, while he calls all the shots.

My vote? Megan and David (the editor from the magazine.) Love their chemistry.

Here's hoping for a Season 2.

I totally love the show and looked forward to every single episode.. I would just die if CW decide to not bring back the show.. I'm hoping that Megan and Will would make up. I was rooting for them.. they look so cute together!! it's like every girls dreams to have a happily ever after story.

yes yes yes i'll definatley watchhhh

I hate this. I really do. Are the CW writers bitter? Why can't a cute couple just be happy. Megan WTF man??!!??????!!!!! I was really rooting for you two, now I'm just pissed. WTF. I really like them together. I don't know if they can bounce back from this. It would be REALLY impressive if they can. WTF!! I can't get over it- I just can't!
